Dr. Robert Michael Bare, Ph.D. was born in Burlington, North Carolina. His family moved to Gaston County when he was 2 years of age. Reba, was born in York, South Carolina and grew up in Clover.

Dr. Bare graduated North Gaston High School in 1974. Then attended Gaston College and East Coast Bible College. Dr. Bare has been a licensed Real Estate Broker in North Carolina since 1977.

Dr. Bare and Reba married in March of 1974 and have two children, Jason Michael and Phillip Anthony.

Dr. Bare’s father was the late Robert D. Bare who was a General Contractor here in Gaston County. His company was "Robert Bare Construction and Guttering." Robert specialized in building houses, roofing, and seamless guttering.  His father died in October of 1993 and his mother Betty Bare, still resides here in Gastonia. She is also involved with NHCDC.

Early in 1980 Dr. Bare received his calling into the ministry. He began his ministry in January of 1981. Since 1983 Dr. Bare has been serving as a pastor.

Over the years, through much study, prayer and fasting, Dr. Bare has developed a unique style of ministry. He is a motivated speaker who sometimes adds a little humor and drama to make his message come alive.

Reba is a soloist and speaker for seminars and conferences, etc. She is a well trained and gifted Day Care Administrator having directed 2 church Child Care Centers, 1 of which was licensed for 190 children. She also directed a secular Child Care Center with over 150 children.

Dr. Bare & Reba’s son Jason, married Kelli Murphy of Federalsburg, Maryland. They have a daughter, Madison Olivia and a son Micah Dayton. Jason has a calling on his life as a song writer, and is a recording artist. He has 2 recording projects and 2 national releases to his credit. He plays the piano and is currently serving as Minister of Music at the Great Bridge Church of God in Chesepeake, Virginia.  Kelli is gifted in singing, dramas, monologues, and puppets, and is the director of the Day Care Facility at the Great Bridge Church of God.

Phillip, married Patricia Speed of Federalsburg, Maryland. They have two sons, Elijah Anthony, and Malachi Leath, and a daughter, Alayna Grace.  Phillip has a calling on his life to preach the gospel. Musically, he plays the drums and the saxophone.

Dr. Bare began college studying Mechanical and Archectual Drafting. After he began his ministry he switched to East Coast Bible College to begin his Biblical education. It took many years but he continued his education until he received a Ph.D. in Biblical Philosophy.

In August of 2001 while returning home from a trip to the state of Maine, Dr. Bare & Reba decided to build a Child Care Facility. Having studied architectural drafting in college, Dr. Bare with Reba’s insight designed the NHCDC building. With over 12,230 square feet this state-of-the-art facility is licensed for well over 200 children. Construction began in June of 2002. Freedom Worship Center and New Hope Child Development Center occupied the facility in May of 2003.

Together, the Bare family has a desire to meet the ever demanding challenge for higher quality Child Care here in Gaston County. Quality comprehensive child care is a ministry to the Bares. They are excited to be able to work together as a family, while providing such a vital need for the community.
